MEET THE MIDWIFE
Katie Quinn, CPM
I am an apprentice trained Certified Profession Midwife. I have always been obsessed with birth and mothering, ever since I was a child. It wasn't until after I became a doula, and had my first child at home in 2013, that I realized my calling was Midwifery. I immediately began studying and enrolled at Ancient Art Midwifery Institute. I was trained under 2 traditional midwives from 2013-2016 after which I began taking clients of my own. While organically building my midwifery practice I later decided to pursue the CPM credential via a 3rd apprenticeship. Since 2013 I have attended 300+ births.
My Philosophy is that birth is a normal physiological event; women's bodies know how to birth and babies know how to be born. I believe you are in charge of your birth, and that birthing people should have open access to the resources and information needed to make truly informed decisions for their families.
Supporting women through their childbearing years is my true passion and gives me such joy. I'm honored and privileged to be able to serve families through midwifery care.
OUR OFFERINGS
From First to Fourth Trimester
PRENATAL CARE
When you hire me as your Midwife, you will receive individualized, thoughtful prenatal care and support throughout your entire pregnancy and postpartum period. You will have access to child birth and lactation education and given resources to make informed decisions for yourself and your baby. An integral part of my practice is working with my clients, so that you are an active participant in your own health care decisions. Most prenatal care appointments will take place in my cozy office space in Kettering, OH where the whole family is encouraged to participate.
HOMEBIRTH
Your birth, Your way. I will provide safe, evidence based care during your labor and birth in the comforts of your home. This includes intermittent monitoring, self directed pushing, delayed cord clamping, immediate skin to skin and the honoring of the GOLDEN HOUR. You're welcome to birth in one of my birth pools, on your bed, on the floor, outside, on the toilet, anywhere you want in any position you want. I am happy to guide you and witness your power in birth.
POSTPARTUM SUPPORT
I will provide comprehensive postpartum care for both you and your baby. I will work to ensure you feel well supported and cared for while you get to know your new baby for the entire first 6 weeks. I will see you in your home and in my office during our several postpartum check-ins, in which we will discuss feeding, check baby's weight and measurements, and check in on how you are healing and integrating this new life into your family.
